Sol Rosen - NNN 2025

Warsaw, Poland

BORN: December 18, 1940 – Warsaw, Poland

STORY OF SURVIVAL

Sol Rosen was born during WWII to parents who survived the Holocaust by relocating with his family throughout Poland and bribing those willing to hide them. After the war, he spent time in multiple DP camps in Germany before immigrating to Chicago in 1949 with the help of the Joint Jewish Appeal. In 1954, Sol enrolled in the Hebrew Theological College, inspired by his bar mitzvah teacher, Rabbi Lawrence Montrose, z”l. His life reflects a journey of survival, education, and giving back to the Jewish community that helped save him.
